Termite Baiting System

In general there are three types of subterranean termites are the most common termites attacking buildings include soil type macrotermes, microtermes, and coptotermes. Subterranean termites live and breed optimally in the soil at a depth 1-2 feet. Termites build his kingdom in a way colonize and live in a caste. The highest caste are the queens and kings, soldiers and workers are the lowest caste. Caste workers charged with caring for and feeding the other castes in a colony. The nature of the transfer of food from one to thousands of termites termites is their work so that speed causes damage to materials that contain cellulose like wood, paper, carpet, cable etc which is the staple food of termites. The level of damage and cruising range of three types of subterranean termites are the most severe type of Coptotermes. Based on the survey results and condition of the building is infested termites then we recommend control measures to the feeder system (termite baiting system).

The advantage of this TBS, so we recommend the system are:

A. Termite Baiting System will not interfere with or alter the structure of an occupied building. With this system does not need to do the drilling on the interior or exterior.
B. Termite Baiting System is not only fortify the buildings from termite attack, but to destroy the termite colony.
C. Can provide protection from termite attack as long as possible.
D. This system is very suitable for highrise building.

III. IMPLEMENTATION METHOD
Termite BAITING SYSTEM

Method: termite Baiting System (TBS) using the method of feeding.
Coverage pests: Termites Land (subterranean termite) type Sp and termite species Coptotermes macro / micro.
WORK PROCEDURES
a. Installation
Performed installation of feeding system on location:
• Above-Ground Station (AG)
Bait stations are installed directly on the building that was attacked. (Only installed if there is already an active termite attack.) Contain toxic termite termites preferred form of tissue.

• In-Ground Station (IG)
Bait stations are planted into the ground around the building every ± 5-8 m. Wood bait stations containing bait to lure the termites who are looking for food.

b. Monitoring
Routine examination in the In-Ground Station every 2 weeks. If you find any active termites feed on wood, the wood bait is replaced with recuit II. Monitoring is also done on Above-Ground Station to ascertain whether the bait has been consumed and the amount of feed is sufficient until the next monitoring. At the time of monitoring, also conducted inspections on the area around the station and other critical areas to determine the existence of a new termite infestations.

c. Elimination
Routine examination and the addition of tissue in the In-Ground & Above-Ground Station every 2 weeks until exhausted eliminated termite colony (usually 3-6 months)

d. Advanced Monitoring
Following colony elimination process is completed, the technician will continue to do monitoring on Above-Ground Station and replace Recruit II on In-Ground Station with WMD / wood bait back.
